SP Performance Disc Brake Rotors
SP Performance offers a high quality line of performance brake rotors available as Cross-Drilled, Slotted, Diamond Slotted, or Cross-Drilled and Slotted, designed to improve the braking system through “bolt-on” methods. They offer advanced race car technology that can be easily installed without any extensive modifications, resulting in an inexpensive way of improving performance, reliability, safety, and looks.
At SP Performance the methodic processing begins by selecting only the finest aftermarket or OEM rotors. Each individual rotor structure is carefully studied and analyzed and an application specific pattern is determined utilizing the latest CAD design techniques. The rotors are then precision machined to within strict tolerances using CNC machines, ensuring the highest quality and reliability.
Available Finishes:
Standard ZRC Finish
All rotors are provided with our gray ZRC coating. It provides long-lasting protection against corrosion in the most hostile salt-water environments. After being applied, ZRC provides the highest level of galvanic protection. The film of ZRC is conductive. After the coating heats up during use, it bonds permanently to the metal surface. It will not allow the metal to corrode, even when the surface is scratched.
Electroplated Bright Zinc Finish
Electro-plating is performed to provide a brighter finish which is more appealing to the look of the rotor. When plating a rotor, a metallurgical bond is formed between the plating and steel, forming an iron rich alloy with tenacious bond where it will form its own protective oxide layer. Electro-plating is very effective in combating the corrosion of the rotor.
SP Performance Drilled and Slotted Rotors
SP Performance Cross-Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors are a unique design offering the best combination of cooling and out-gassing. In fact, the SP Performance design is so unique, we would like to go over some of the details. The first thing we will point out on the drilled rotor is the chamfer. Unlike our competition, there is no edge on our chamfer. This is accomplished by the use of an outer radius curve rather than a countersink. With the radius curve, or “Sinusoid Curve”, an edge on the surface of the hole is virtually eliminated. With no edge, there is less stress build up, thus reducing the chance of surface checking. This smooth surface also makes the rotor more pad friendly by reducing the wear of the pad caused by the friction scraping against a sharp edge.

SP Performance Drilled and Slotted Rotors - Standard ZRC Finish
Recommended for street performance applications. Because of the SP inverted radius chamfer, and slotting, these rotors will allow for greater cooling than stock rotors. Slotting provides additional brake “bite”. Note: Due to the nature of slotted rotors- a slight hum or whirring sound may be evident under heavy braking. |

SP Performance Drilled and Slotted Rotors - Electroplated Bright Zinc Finish
Recommended for the same applications as the standard Drilled and Slotted Rotors, but for customers who prefer a brighter finish. |

SP Performance Diamond Slotted Rotors
The SP Performance Diamond Slotted Brake Rotors are a unique design in slotted technology. This slotted design was created to maximize the out-gassing while maintaining the structural integrity of the rotor. The series of slots and diamond slots “wipes” the surface of the pad, reducing gases which build up and cause brakes to fade at higher temperatures. The slots and diamonds are machined to the minimum rotor thickness to insure rotor strength and integrity. The appearance of this design is highly desirable to the performance enthusiast wanting a new look to their vehicle.

SP Performance Diamond Slotted Rotors - Standard ZRC Finish
Recommended for street performance applications. Slotted rotors with a unique diamond etching pattern. Slotting provides increased brake “bite” and helps keep pads clean.
Diamond etching gives the effect of Cross-Drilled without any danger of cracking. Note: Due to the nature of slotted rotors- a slight hum or whirring sound may be evident under heavy braking. |

Recommended for the same applications as the standard Diamond Slotted Rotors, but for customers who prefer a brighter finish. |

SP Performance Slotted Rotors
With SP Performance Slotted Brake Rotors, you will feel the difference. Its series of slots wipe the surface of the rotor forcing the gases to expel through the slots. The slotted surface also greatly improve wet weather braking by preventing hydroplaning between the pad and rotor. The slots on SP Performance Brake Rotors are machined to the minimum thickness. This is done to insure that the rotor strength is not compromised, keeping safety and reliability in mind for virtually all automotive cars and trucks. This is a bolt-on, hassle free way to greatly improve your stopping performance.

SP Performance Slotted Rotors - Standard ZRC Finish
We recommend slotted only rotors in any extreme service application. These would include racing, autocross, larger trucks and SUV's, and vehicles that exhibit chronic brake problems. The nature of the slotted only rotor gives the greatest amount of braking surface, helps keep the pads clean, and increases initial brake “bite”. Note: Due to the nature of slotted rotors- a slight hum or whirring sound may be evident under heavy braking. |

SP Performance Drilled Rotors
SP Performance Cross Drilled Brake Rotors have a design that offers the best results possible in cooling and venting brake dust and moisture. Unlike other manufacturers rotors, there is no sharp edge on our chamfer. This is accomplished by the use of an outer radius curve rather than a countersink. With the radius curve, or “Sinusoid Curve”, it virtually eliminates an edge on the surface of the hole. This smooth surface also makes the rotor more pad friendly by reducing the wear of the pad caused by the friction scraping against a sharp edge.

SP Performance Sinusoid Curve Chamfer
Advanced Drilling methods put SP Performance Cross-Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors above the rest in quality, performance, reliability and appearance. The rotors are drilled with an exclusive Sinusoid Curve chamfering which promotes cooling. It also vents moisture and dust while minimizing heat checking and increases both rotor and pad life.
 |
Straight Drilled Hole
A high stress and heat build up area forms at the intersection of the rotor and drilled edge. |
 |
Countersunk Hole
Countersinking increases the external surface area of the hole, thus reducing heat, but still contains edges prone to stress and heat build up. |
 |
Radius Hole
The Radius Chamfer increases the hole cooling area thus reducing heat, but still contains sharp edges. |
 |
SP Performance Sinusoidal Curved Chamfered Hole
Absolutely no sharp edges. The smooth design promotes cooling and minimizes stress, reducing the possibility of heat checking while increasing both rotor and pad life. |
NOTE: SP PERFORMANCE ROTORS ARE CUSTOM, MADE-TO-ORDER PARTS.
